In recent years, the Rostock KUNSTNACHT (Art Night) in the Eastern Old Town has developed into one of the annual highlights of the university and Hanseatic city of Rostock. Since the year 2000, up to 40 art venues in Rostock’s Eastern Old Town have been opening their doors free of charge for one night, inviting guests to experience art in all its diversity. Whether it's an office or a shop, a gallery or a restaurant – the venues are located close to one another and offer a wide range of artistic genres.
