Meet Katerina

Photographer Katerina Belkina presents a new series of artworks Empty Spaces
Izvestia, September 22, 2011

English translation:
This time the focus is on a man very similar to herself. He is looking for a cozy place, a home in the city. The heroine experiences different emotions towards her habitat - from love to hatred. Because the city, the photographer believes, is an artificial matter, but at the same time it has a powerful attraction. The larger the metropolis, the stronger the attraction. However, without people, sooner or later it will turn into emptiness, which is also in us. Can not understand anything? Katya knows how to confuse. In fact, everything is simple - in her works a sad red-haired girl is depicted against the backdrop of urban landscapes. Within each frame, she tries to speak to the city, or rather, creates the illusion of communication thanks to her sad and devastated look.
